Schwartz’s Walkoff Gives Sky View Bobcats Varsity Victory Over Hunter

Sky View Bobcats Varsity took Saturday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 9-8 walk-off victory over Hunter. The game was tied at eight with Sky View Bobcats Varsity batting in the bottom of the eighth when Keiko Schwartz tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Sky View Bobcats Varsity was boosted by Mikelle Sorenson who went 4-for-5 at the plate. Sorenson singled in the first, doubled in the third, singled in the sixth, and tripled in the seventh.

Hunter fired up the offense in the first inning. An error scored one run for Hunter.

Sky View Bobcats Varsity evened things up at eight in the bottom of the seventh inning. Sky View Bobcats Varsity scored one run when Sorenson tripled.

Sky View Bobcats Varsity tallied three runs in the seventh inning. Darcee Lundberg and Sorenson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Mackenzie Schnell led things off on the hill for Sky View Bobcats Varsity. She went eight innings, allowing eight runs on six hits and striking out four.

K Van Dam got the start for Hunter. She surrendered nine runs on 14 hits over seven innings, striking out three.

Sky View Bobcats Varsity totaled 14 hits. Sorenson, Samantha Shumway, Abbey Cantwell, and Megan Spackman all managed multiple hits for Sky View Bobcats Varsity. Sorenson went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Sky View Bobcats Varsity in hits.

Hunter tallied six hits on the day. Van Dam and J Perkins each racked up multiple hits for Hunter. Van Dam led Hunter with three hits in four at bats. Hunter stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Perkins led the way with two.
